Target metagenomics sequencing

Our unique target capture metagenomics sequencing service provides high-depth, high-resolution sequencing of specific microbial gene families and functions.

mi-Bact

mi-Bact provides targeted sequencing of multiple phylogenetic markers genes in a single experiment, which boosts the detection and identification of bacterial and archaeal species in environmental samples.

Typically, mi-Bact sequencing allows identifing from two to five times more species than regular shotgun metagenomics and 16S amplicon sequencing.

Combined with our mi-Analytics reports, it also provides species level resolution and relative abundances of rare microoganisms, many of them undetectable by other methods.

If your project requires high-resolution species-level taxonomic profiles, mi-Bact offers an affordable and superior alternative to 16S and regular shotgun metagenomics

Keep in mind that while it provides a broad overview, it has limitations in phylogenetic and species-level resolution.

This untargeted approach sequences all DNA, providing a complete picture of microbial species and genes, including species-level identification and relative abundance estimates.
